Privacy Policy
This page briefly explains what information Buddypins uses, why it is needed, and which external services are involved when you plan a trip together with other people.
What information is used in the service
- names that users enter themselves in the app
- maps, places, notes, plans, and likes created in the service
- technical information needed for session handling, security, and operation
- location and search data used when maps and place information are fetched
Why the information is used
- to create and share maps between multiple people
- to show maps, place information, and plans in the app
- to protect the service from spam, bots, and abuse
- to troubleshoot issues and keep the service working
Our providers
- Supabase is used for the database and anonymous sign-in
- Cloudflare Turnstile is used for bot protection
- Google Maps Platform is used for maps and place information
How long information is kept
Information in a map is normally stored for as long as the map remains in the service, or until it is deleted by the person responsible for the service. Security-related information may be stored for a limited time to prevent abuse.
Your rights
You may request information about what personal data is processed about you, ask for incorrect data to be corrected, and in some cases request that data be deleted. You can also contact us if you want to exercise your rights or submit a complaint to IMY.
If you want your information deleted
If you want information about you to be deleted, you need to contact us and specify which map it concerns and which name you used in the service. It is also helpful if you include the share link or other information that makes it easier to identify the correct map. We use that information to find the right data and handle your request.
A deletion request may, for example, mean that we remove your membership in a map, likes you have made, and places or notes you added yourself, to the extent that it is technically and legally possible.
